Leading Hand

About the role

The Leading Hand will oversee the delivery of minor civil infrastructure and urban development projects, ensuring they are completed on time, safely and to the required quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain thorough understanding of OHS and environmental requirements.
• Arrange plant, labour and material resources for each project.
• Direct and monitor subcontractors, suppliers and plant hirers.
• Control survey requirements and daily monitoring of activity costs.
• Ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards.
• Maintain the construction programme and report any non‑conformances.
• Keep daily records of site activities.
• Guarantee client quality expectations are met or exceeded.

Required profile

• Certificate III in Civil Construction.
• Current driver’s licence.
• Strong communication and attention to detail.
• Proven leadership experience.
• Good knowledge of drawings, specifications and quality requirements.
• Experience in minor civil infrastructure works or urban development projects.
• Team‑oriented mindset and ability to deliver projects within budget and schedule.
• Experience with shoring.
