About the role
We are partnering with a leading investment bank in Sydney to expand its Natural Resources team. The firm is looking for an Investment Banking Analyst (I or II) to support advisory and corporate finance transactions within the mining and broader natural resources sector.
Key responsibilities
- Assist in the execution of mergers, acquisitions, and financing transactions for natural resources clients.
- Prepare financial models, valuation analyses, and pitch materials.
- Conduct industry research and market analysis specific to mining and related commodities.
- Support senior bankers in client meetings, due diligence, and deal documentation.
- Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of regulatory and market developments affecting the sector.
Required profile
- Approximately 12 months of experience in a lead advisory or corporate finance role, preferably at an investment bank or boutique advisory firm.
- Demonstrated genuine interest in mining and natural resources.
- Strong academic performance at undergraduate level.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced, deal‑driven environment.
Required skills
- Financial modelling and valuation techniques.
- Proficiency in Excel for financial analysis.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
