Integration Engineer

About the role

The Integrated Product Team (IPT) Engineer will join Thales Defence Mission Systems’ Engineering Support Team under the Scylla In‑Service Support contract for Collins Class submarines. You will be responsible for maintaining and supporting Scylla sonar and related equipment, ensuring the fleet’s mission‑critical systems remain operational.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor, manage and process SIMS documentation (DMDRs, DAPs, MAPs, MCPs, concessions, CCPs) for all Scylla products.
• Conduct Judgement of Significance, Impact and Formal Risk Assessments in line with Navy Technical Regulations.
• Exercise Engineering Authority Level 3 for sonar and towed‑array decisions.
• Produce technical reports, reviews and assessments for Scylla and TA products.
• Perform engineering investigations, design analysis and both informal and formal testing.
• Maintain configuration control of all task documentation and design data.
• Provide technical advice to team members and seek Design Authority approval when required.
• Develop and update work‑package plans, status reports and visual management boards.

Required profile

• Australian citizenship with ability to obtain and maintain defence security clearance.
• Experience in naval or defence engineering environments, preferably with sonar or sensor systems.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities, capable of independent investigations.
• Excellent written communication for producing technical documentation.
