Human Resources Officer – Large‑Scale Manufacturing

About the role

The Human Resources Officer will support HR functions at Oakey Beef Exports, one of Australia’s largest beef processing plants located near Toowoomba. The role focuses on ensuring compliance with industrial relations legislation, maintaining confidential employee records, and supporting the HR information system in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with contemporary industrial and human relations laws.
• Maintain accurate HR records and uphold confidentiality.
• Support and administer the Dayforce (or similar) HRIS platform.
• Provide HR support across the plant, including employee relations and communication.

Required profile

• Minimum five years of HR experience with a degree or diploma in HR or a related field.
• Sound knowledge of contemporary industrial and human relations legislation.
• Highly organised with strong attention to detail, time‑management and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills at all organisational levels.
• Ability to develop relationships while maintaining confidentiality.
• Experience in meat processing, large‑scale manufacturing or production is advantageous.

Required skills

• Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, including SharePoint.
• Experience using Dayforce or a comparable full‑suite HRIS.
• Ability to work with MS Office applications for reporting and documentation.
