Head of Finance – General Insurance

About the role

We are seeking a Head of Finance to lead the finance function for our general insurance client portfolio. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will oversee a team of 15 finance professionals and be responsible for delivering accurate financial reporting and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of 15 finance staff across two teams, including 1‑2 managers.
• Deliver financial reporting and regulatory obligations for insurance clients, including ASIC and APRA reporting.
• Ensure financial service level agreements are met with accuracy and timeliness.
• Manage workflow, service delivery standards, and onboarding of new clients.
• Present financial results to clients in face‑to‑face and online settings.
• Develop and enhance finance processes and procedures.

Required profile

• Significant experience leading finance accounting teams, preferably within general insurance.
• Strong people‑management background with experience rolling out development programs.
• CPA or CA qualification.
• Proven track record delivering timely, accurate financial reporting.
• Experience with ASIC and APRA reporting requirements.
• Demonstrated ability in process mapping, quality assurance frameworks and risk identification.
