Global Logistics & Trade Compliance Manager

About the role

We are seeking a senior Global Logistics & Trade Compliance Manager to lead our international shipping and compliance function from Brisbane. Reporting to senior leadership, you will oversee end‑to‑end freight operations, ensure accurate trade documentation and drive cost‑effective, compliant supply‑chain processes across multiple locations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end international shipping operations across air and sea freight.
• Lead and support shipping and documentation teams at head office and global sites.
• Oversee freight forwarders, shipping lines, customs brokers, and third‑party logistics providers.
• Negotiate freight rates, contracts and service agreements to achieve cost and service targets.
• Ensure timely and accurate preparation of trade documents such as Bills of Lading, commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, licences, permits and LC documentation.
• Maintain compliance with customs regulations, Incoterms, trade laws, sanctions and internal policies.
• Monitor shipping performance, resolve delays and claims, and drive KPI reporting.
• Identify and implement improvements to systems, processes and documentation workflows, including ERP platforms.

Required profile

• 8+ years of experience in international logistics, shipping and trade documentation.
• Proven leadership managing multi‑site or international teams.
• Strong knowledge of Incoterms, UCP 600, customs requirements and trade compliance.
• Ability to manage external logistics providers and build effective stakeholder relationships.
• Commercial focus with strong negotiation and problem‑solving capability.
• Experience with ERP systems; Odoo exposure is highly regarded.
