Financial & Operational Accountant – Sydney

About the role

Edward Mann Ltd is seeking a Financial & Operational Accountant to join a fast‑growing business in Burwood, Sydney. Reporting directly to senior leadership, you will ensure financial integrity while supporting daily operations in a dynamic environment.

Key responsibilities

• Own month‑end close, journal entries, and balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly management and board reporting packs covering P&L, balance sheet and cash flow.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis to inform commercial decisions.
• Perform daily bank reconciliations, monitor cash positions and manage banking relationships.
• Prepare and lodge statutory compliance (BAS, PAYG, Payroll Tax, FBT, ABS surveys).
• Maintain fixed‑asset register, oversee bad‑debt provisioning and manage AP/AR processes.
• Act as the internal go‑to for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, troubleshooting posting errors and user issues.
• Conduct weekly commercial reviews of customer lists, open POs and pricing variances.
• Manage customer credit applications and resolve issues with digital payment gateways (Stripe, PayWay).
• Document SOPs and financial policies, and support office supply ordering for storefront locations.

Required profile

• 3–5 years experience in corporate financial control and day‑to‑day accounting.
• Strong experience with mid‑tier ERP systems, preferably Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
• Proven ability to work autonomously, solve problems and support a lean team.
