Financial Controller – Commercial Accounting (Brisbane)

About the role

We are looking for a commercially‑focused Financial Controller to join our Brisbane team. Reporting to the CFO, you will combine hands‑on finance work with strategic commercial decision support, ensuring accurate reporting and continuous process improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Own the general ledger and manage month‑end close processes.
• Prepare and deliver monthly management accounts and financial reports.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting and cash‑flow management activities.
• Support year‑end reporting, audits and compliance requirements.
• Consolidate financial results across multiple entities.
• Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions.
• Conduct commercial analysis to identify trends, risks and improvement opportunities.
• Drive continuous improvement of finance processes and reporting.
• Provide leadership, mentoring and development for the finance team.
• Assist with broader operational and financial administration tasks.

Required profile

• Experience in a Financial Controller, Finance Manager or Senior Accountant role with leadership responsibilities.
• Strong accounting and financial reporting capability.
• Ability to prepare management reports and support commercial decision‑making.
• Hands‑on approach with high attention to detail and accountability.
• Clear and practical communication of financial information.
• Proven experience leading and developing people.
• Familiarity with reporting cycles, audits and compliance requirements.
• Ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders across the business.
• Experience in multi‑entity or fast‑growing environments is highly regarded.
