Executive Officer – Tourism Operations

About the role

The Executive Officer will lead and manage the operations of Mareeba Shire Tourism. Working closely with the Tourism Board, industry members and key stakeholders, the role promotes the region’s premier experiences, locations and products while enhancing the organisation’s reputation. Marketing, social media and WordPress experience are highly desirable to support the promotion strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations and ensure successful delivery of the Tourism Action Plan for the Shire.
• Collaborate with the Tourism Board, industry partners and stakeholders to develop and implement tourism initiatives.
• Promote Mareeba Shire’s attractions, experiences and products through various channels.
• Enhance the organisation’s reputation and visibility locally and regionally.

Required profile

• Proven experience in senior operational or executive roles within tourism or related sectors.
• Strong understanding of tourism promotion, stakeholder engagement and community outreach.
• Excellent communication, leadership and strategic planning abilities.
• Marketing and social media experience is highly desirable.
