Developer Programmer

About the role

Synechron is seeking experienced Developer Programmers to join its Melbourne team. You will work on financial services and payments software, translating business requirements into robust, maintainable code.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret specifications, technical designs and flow charts to build and modify application code.
• Research, analyze and evaluate system program needs and identify technology limitations.
• Test, debug, diagnose and correct errors in accordance with established quality standards.
• Write and maintain program code, technical documentation and end‑user guides.
• Provide advice on software design, financial evaluation and costing for upgrades or new purchases.

Required profile

• Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent IT experience.
• 3+ years of development or support experience in financial services, banking, cards or payments.
• Australian citizenship or permanent residency.

Required skills

• VisionPLUS or CardPac credit‑card processing systems.
• Experience with payments platforms such as SWIFT, New Payment Platform (NPP) or ISO 20022.
• Familiarity with transaction switches like Postilion, Connex, Base24 or ATM networks.
• Strong API integration experience.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex software issues.
