Design Coordinator

About the role

The Design Coordinator will lead the design process for major construction projects, ensuring solutions are commercially effective, technically robust, and aligned with client expectations. This role sits at the intersection of design, construction, and stakeholder management, driving excellence from concept through delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the design process across complex construction projects from inception to completion.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary consultant teams to ensure seamless project delivery.
• Identify design gaps, buildability issues, and value‑engineering opportunities.
• Ensure designs comply with Australian Standards, NCC/BCA requirements, and statutory legislation.
• Collaborate with construction and delivery teams to align design intent with onsite execution.
• Manage design programmes and contribute to overall project planning and sequencing.
• Act as the primary point of contact for all design‑related matters and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and internal teams.
• Support budget management, cost control, and continuous improvement initiatives.
