Data Engineer

About the role

Optus is seeking a Data Engineer to join its Network Analytics team. You will design, build and maintain scalable data pipelines that ingest and transform network telemetry, performance, fault and capacity data across cloud platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and operate end‑to‑end data pipelines for structured and semi‑structured network data.
• Implement data transformations using SQL, Python and Spark/PySpark, ensuring reliability and performance.
• Collaborate with data scientists and ML engineers to support model training, deployment and analytical use cases such as anomaly detection and forecasting.
• Build cloud‑native solutions on GCP, Azure and AWS using Databricks, Kubernetes and CI/CD practices.
• Maintain data quality, governance, metadata, lineage and security through monitoring and issue resolution.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Telecommunications or a related field.
• 4+ years of experience building production‑grade data pipelines, preferably in telecom or network environments.
• Strong problem‑solving mindset with the ability to deliver results independently.
