Data Business Analyst

About the role

Join Jetstar’s data team and play a pivotal role in delivering strategic, innovative projects across our airline data platforms. This 12‑month fixed‑term position is based at our Melbourne headquarters and offers a flexible hybrid working model with travel benefits from day one.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and facilitate business requirements gathering sessions to capture complex challenges.
• Define project scope, create artefacts, and set realistic timelines in collaboration with the squad.
• Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships, ensuring clear communication.
• Develop proof‑of‑concept BI models and prototypes to validate solutions.
• Apply strong SQL capabilities for data analysis, supported by foundational BI tool knowledge.
• Translate business requirements into epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Establish and improve tools, templates, and processes for BI analysts.
• Own User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to confirm solutions meet requirements.
• Partner with stakeholders to document objectives, processes, scope, and use cases.
• Contribute to backlog prioritisation and product planning aligned with business value.
• Identify, acquire, and profile new data sources to support evolving analytics needs.

Required profile

• Proven experience in business analysis for data‑focused projects.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Ability to lead requirements workshops and manage project scope.
• Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail.
