About the role
The Community Engagement Coordinator will act as a bridge between Country Fire Authority (CFA) stakeholders and internal teams, delivering community engagement and education programmes across the Ararat district. This full‑time, ongoing position requires energy, diplomacy and a results‑driven mindset.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate and support the delivery of regional and district business plans.
- Provide advice on community risk, vulnerability and safety initiatives.
- Oversee monitoring, evaluation and reporting of engagement and education programmes.
- Use insights and feedback to improve services and identify new opportunities.
- Lead, mentor and support casual staff and volunteers, including managing a pool car for travel.
Required profile
- Strong emotional intelligence with empathy and self‑awareness.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience working in rural communities is highly regarded.
- Organisational and time‑management capabilities.
