Community Engagement Advisor

About the role

We are looking for a Community Engagement Advisor to join the Creek Connect team delivering Sydney Water’s Upper South Creek Networks Program. The role will support the planning and execution of community and stakeholder engagement across multiple infrastructure projects, ensuring clear communication and compliance with project standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement community and stakeholder engagement plans in line with project protocols.
• Identify, assess and manage community risks, working with internal teams and contractors to minimise impacts.
• Prepare and distribute high-quality communication materials such as letters, emails and newsletters.
• Conduct face-to-face meetings, site visits and outreach activities with community members, stakeholders and property owners.
• Manage enquiries and complaints, track issues, report on progress and resolve matters according to established procedures.
• Support reporting, continuous improvement and reputation management activities.

Required profile

• Minimum 4 years of experience in community and stakeholder engagement, preferably in infrastructure, government or large-scale project environments.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
• Proven ability to handle sensitive issues, complaints and conflict.
• Excellent attention to detail and capacity to manage multiple competing priorities.
