About the role

The Clinical Director of Medicine will provide strategic and operational leadership for medical services at a major regional referral hospital in Central Queensland. This senior position shapes the future of healthcare delivery while maintaining active clinical engagement.

Key responsibilities

• Lead clinical governance, quality improvement and patient‑centred care across all medical specialties.
• Develop and implement workforce planning and service development strategies.
• Mentor and support medical staff, trainees and multidisciplinary teams.
• Collaborate with executive leadership and external partners, including Central Queensland University.
• Oversee accreditation, compliance and performance reporting.

Required profile

• MBBS or equivalent, eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
• Specialist registration or eligibility in General Medicine (AHPRA).
• Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) in General Medicine.
• Demonstrated senior leadership capability and commitment to clinical excellence.
