Child and Youth Health Nurse – Gunbalanya (FIFO optional)

About the role

The Red Lily Health Board Aboriginal Corporation is seeking a dedicated Child and Youth Health Nurse to provide comprehensive primary health care to infants, children and adolescents in the remote community of Gunbalanya. The role can be based on‑site with a FIFO option from Darwin, offering a unique opportunity to make a lasting impact on Aboriginal health outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver holistic clinical care to children and youth, including health checks, immunisations and screening.
• Lead and coordinate school‑based and community health programs.
• Collaborate closely with Aboriginal Health Practitioners and multidisciplinary teams.
• Support prevention, early intervention and continuity of care across the region.
• Contribute to quality improvement, reporting and service planning initiatives.

Required profile

• Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
• Strong clinical experience in child and youth health.
• Understanding of Aboriginal health and culturally safe practice.
• Experience in primary health care, remote or community‑controlled settings.
• Excellent communication, teamwork and ability to work independently.
