About the role

The boutique insights consultancy is seeking a Category Insights Consultant to join its Sydney team. This client‑facing position blends shopper insight, category thinking, and commercial advisory to turn complex data into actionable recommendations for leading FMCG and retail brands.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and develop relationships across a portfolio of FMCG and retail clients, including onsite collaboration.
• Consult with stakeholders to define business problems and shape research objectives.
• Analyse shopper, sales, loyalty and survey data to uncover commercially relevant insights.
• Translate complex data into clear, compelling narratives and present insights regularly.
• Support the growth of expertise in category, shopper, and loyalty strategy.

Required profile

• Background in a research agency, shopper insights consultancy, category team or FMCG insights environment.
• Enjoys direct client interaction and clear communication of insights.
• Strong commercial acumen and ability to think about data in business terms.
• High attention to detail and strong planning skills.
