About the role
The Business Development Manager will lead sales initiatives for watermelon and melon crops within BASF Vegetable Seeds, focusing on the ANZ market. You will build long‑term partnerships with strategic accounts, drive profitability, and ensure the crops meet their annual targets.
Key responsibilities
- Develop, plan and execute sales strategies for watermelon and melon crops.
- Build and maintain long‑term relationships with ANZ customers in line with the M&S strategy.
- Manage pricing, profitability and the long‑term pipeline for the assigned crops.
- Create and implement customer account plans to achieve sales targets and KPIs.
- Represent BASF with value‑based proposals and nurture retailer connections.
- Provide market, price, product, grower and consumer insights for strategic planning.
- Collaborate with crop teams and global stakeholders to evaluate varietal performance and introduce new products.
- Execute go‑to‑market strategies and commercial excellence initiatives for the region.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 5‑8 years of experience in sales, marketing or project management.
- Strong knowledge of the vegetable seed business.
- Advanced consultative selling, negotiation and closing abilities.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the capacity to influence diverse stakeholders.
