Assistant Manager – Health Portfolio

About the role

The Assistant Manager will partner with the Senior Relationship Credit Manager to support a portfolio of health‑sector customers. This permanent, full‑time position is based at ANZ’s Melbourne office and focuses on delivering high‑quality credit outcomes while adhering to the bank’s risk appetite.

Key responsibilities

• Support the management of a health‑customer portfolio with a customer‑centric approach.
• Maintain portfolio compliance with all relevant policies, procedures and risk frameworks.
• Develop a detailed understanding of customers’ businesses, financial performance and industry dynamics.
• Conduct credit analysis, including financial modelling, cash‑flow analysis and risk assessments.
• Prepare credit submissions, annual reviews and ongoing portfolio monitoring.
• Control workflows across compliance, credit and customer fulfilment processes.
• Provide solutions for new lending, facility structuring and account maintenance.
• Collaborate with product partners, risk and operations to deliver customer outcomes.

Required profile

• Experience in commercial or mid‑market banking, preferably within health or property sectors.
• Exposure to structured lending and deal execution.
• Tertiary qualification in finance, business or a related discipline.
• Strong understanding of credit risk, compliance frameworks and stakeholder management.
