Accountant – Business Advisory (1‑2 years experience)

About the role

RSM Australia is looking for an enthusiastic Accountant to join its Business Advisory team. This position is ideal for candidates with 1‑2 years of experience who want to deepen their technical expertise in financial reporting, tax compliance and client service while progressing toward a senior career path.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in preparing financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
• Prepare accurate workpapers and supporting documentation for audits and reviews.
• Review financial statements and management accounts for accuracy and compliance.
• Prepare income tax returns for individuals, companies and trusts.
• Apply tax compliance procedures and support tax planning initiatives.
• Support regulatory lodgements and ensure all deadlines are met.

Required profile

• Minimum 1 year of experience in a similar accounting role.
• Strong communication skills and high attention to detail.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Currently studying or intending to start a CA/CPA qualification (desirable).
